Hello Summit of Peace Families!
I pray you are all well and staying busy and healthy and happy. Below are just a few reminders for events that are upcoming in the life of our church.
SOP Weekly check-in survey
Click HERE to complete the 5 minute survey. This really helps us keep tabs on our church family and reach out to those in need of help if necessary. This week your answers will also help us gauge where you stand and how you feel about returning to the building for services. We believe it will be a great help in our planning for having in-person services again. Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete.
Drive THRU communion
The next time coming up Tuesday 5/19/20 from 11:00am-12:00p. Please join us for the Lord's Supper. During these times, you can also:
- Drop off any offering/giving envelopes
- Pick up a Portal of Prayers, the daily devotional book
- We also have homemade masks available if you, or someone you know, are in need of a mask.
- Drop off any Food for Hope donations
- Drop off Garage Sale items to support CR3W’s garage sale COMING this summer.
NEW: Virtual Choir
If you are a regular choir member or join in occasionally based on your schedule – Katie invites you to join in as we create a virtual choir piece for the May 31st services. You will be singing “Be Still My Soul”. Click HERE to sign up on the needs list so that Katie will know who is going to participate. I have attached a few documents that Katie has provided to this email. You can find the rest of the documents, including the recording of the song HERE, in CCB.
Virtual Life Groups
The groups are ongoing, and they have been an amazing way to connect with others. Please consider joining one of our open groups and/or start your own. Contact Sarah if you would like more information at email@example.com
Calling all SOP Women!
As we look to plan future events, Abide Women’s Ministry would like to gauge the comfort level of our women when considering a Fall Women’s Retreat (October 16th-18th). Please fill out the following survey with your feedback so we can plan accordingly: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SOPWomensRetreat. Thank you for taking the time to fill out this survey! You can contact Alexi with additional questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
GOOD NEWS! Confirmation has been EXTENDED. As we continue under the stay at home order, and expect restrictions to be slowly lifted, we will continue to meet virtually every week in our small groups through May. To stay connected to our youth, Confirmation Guides will meet weekly on Wednesday at 5:45pm to check-in with their small groups, play virtual games, and have weekly devotions. Be on the lookout for an email from Alexi on Tuesdays with the ZOOM link.
CR3W Senior Youth will also continue to meet virtually every week at 6:30pm on Wednesday’s for checking-in, virtual games, and weekly devotionals with Susan, David, & Alexi. Be on the lookout for an email from Alexi with the ZOOM link.

ZOOM Bible Study with Pastor Janzen

Thank you to all of you who are Building the Kingdom through Summit of Peace! Your overwhelming generosity continues to pay our pastors and staff and enables us to share the love of Jesus with a hurting world through live stream worship and Bible study. We are continuing to steward your gifts carefully by operating under a modified budget that includes only staff salaries and benefits, monthly bills, and worship expenses.
Your generosity has also funded our Special Member Needs account for those in our Summit family who have been financially impacted by the crisis. If you are struggling, please privately contact Pastor Jacoby (email@example.com) or Pastor PJ (firstname.lastname@example.org). All need requests and donations will remain anonymous.
As we focus on spreading the Good News of the Gospel, we remember that God calls us to help those around us with physical and emotional needs as well. To that end, we have decided to donate 15% of our general fund offering on May 31st to Catalively. This Colorado non-profit works to eliminate suicide by providing resources to those in need. The crisis has taken its toll on the emotional well-being of all of us, but especially the vulnerable. Thank you for helping us support Catalively in their important work.
To continue your support of Summit of Peace:
You can give your gift online at www.summitofpeace.org/donate
- Text “SOPLC” to 77977
- If you’d like to make your offering by check, please mail it to the church at 4661 E. 136th Ave, Thornton, CO 80602. Write “Attn: Counters” on the envelope so your gift can be put directly in the safe without being opened by staff.
- If you do take the opportunity to come to one of our offered communion times, you can also give us your offering envelope at that time.
I pray you have a blessed, warm week!! We miss all of you so much and cannot wait to see you all in person soon. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions/concerns/needs. We are here to help, and we want to help in any way we can.
God's blessings to you always!
22 And the Lord said to Samuel, “Obey their voice and make them a king.” Samuel then said to the men of Israel, “Go every man to his city.” 1 Samuel 8:22
