What to Expect

Welcome to Summit of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thornton, Colorado! We offer worship variety with a traditional service at 8 am with hymns and organist and a contemporary service at 10:30 am with contemporary christians songs, a band and vocalist to lead you. Both services offer powerful, easy-to-understand messages with a balance of law & gospel that are applicable to everyday life. You will find a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. You can look forward to a smiling greeter who is ready to help you get to where you need to go. Don't worry about what to wear. While some people like to dress up, others choose to dress casually. Come the way you feel comfortable!

  • PArking

Parking is to the east of the building, just past the church. We have ramps and plenty of handicapped parking. If you need to drop someone off, feel free and then find the perfect spot!

  • What to Wear

We do mean it when we say don't worry about what to wear. While some people dress up, others choose to dress informal or casual. Come the way you feel comfortable. We are just glad you are here.

  • Where to Go

Upon entering the main doors, you will be greeted by one of our volunteer ushers. They will hand you our worship folder.  Then they will direct you into the sanctuary to find a seat.

  • Babies & Children

Children are a vital part of Summit of Peace and are included in the worship service. If needed, our friendly ushers can assist you in finding the nursery/cry room located in the back of the Sanctuary with audio service and a viewing window. Children's Worship Bulletins and crayons are available from an usher.

  • Attendance Slips/Contact Cards

You will find these slips in the worship folders handed to you as you enter the sanctuary.   We ask you to fill these out with your prayer requests, information requests, etc and turn them into the ushers and or place them in the offering basket as you exit the building.   If you are interested in our programs or want to become a member make sure you fill these out and we will be in contact with you!

  • Prayers of the Church

Prayer requests will be asked for from the audience during the service.  You are also welcome to email prayers@summitofpeace.org with your requests at anytime.  These will be emailed out on our prayer chain to our members on Monday.

  • The Lord's Supper

Summit of Peace celebrates the Lord's Supper each weekend (check out the worship service section for which service) with the belief that this sacred meal is a gift of Christ to his church. You'll find a guide to The Lord's Supper in our worship folders, which are handed out at each service.
