With the passion for sharing the love for classical music, Harumi has been teaching piano for 18 years. In her lesson, she covers both musical elements and technical elements and teaches the piano music in Baroque period through the 21st century. She includes music theory, music history, and ear training when appropriate. She teaches solfège in addition to alphabet note names. While her students enjoy learning piano solo music most of the time, they explore piano duets, concerto movements, movie music, pop music, and jazz music occasionally. They have been actively participating in recitals, festivals and competitions. Harumi has received the Bachelors degree in piano performance with honor at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She is a nationally certified teacher of music (NCTM).
