Cambodia Mission

Section Title

Risen Savior, Summit of Peace, and several other Denver area Lutheran congregations have been coordinating efforts to send mission teams to Cambodia for the past several years. Each congregation has provided volunteers, funding, and prayers of support to carry out God's mission to the people of Cambodia.

Each year these congregations have:

  • Sponsored an annual Youth Conference (Food, Lodging, Bibles, Tees)
  • VBS Programs (Games, Music, Service) in nearby villages
  • Leadership Training for Pastoral/Administration Staff
  • Construction of latrines in areas where sanitary facilities do not exist
  • Construction of simple housing structures,
  • Construction of a fence around a schoolyard,
  • Teach english classes to youth
  • Painting of local classrooms

A chronic problem in this impoverished country is the exploitation of children which occurs because children are providing for the needs of the family by street vending and begging. To address this, the congregations provide year round support for two organizations, Stronghold Cambodia and Crossing Cambodia. These organizations provide a daily meal for underprivileged children, educational programs, including English, math and computer training, Christian instruction, and instruction for the parents. Your support allows these local organizations to reverse the culture of spiritual and economic poverty, and uplift their communities.

Helping Hands Project
Food for Families

One monthly food gift to 75 families = $1500/month

$25 provides a family with:
15 kg (33lbs) of rice / 1 bottle of fish or soy sauce
5 cans of sardines / 20 eggs / fresh vegetables

This gift of food, along with prayer and care for our families, is testimony of Jesus’ love in word and action.  Throughout His ministry, Jesus sought out and ministered to those who were poor.  It is Jesus’ love for each of us that spurs us to share His love with “the least of these.”  In doing so, we strive to not only fill their bellies but more importantly to fill their hearts and minds with the love of Jesus.

As Stronghold continues to find new ways to minister to God’s people in their time of critical need, we ask you to prayerfully consider donating to our Helping Hands fund during this COVID crisis.  As the world endures quarantines, closures, and even panic during the coronavirus pandemic, we ask you to join us in prayer that the gift of God’s peace offered in His Word may replace anxiety and fear with hope and healing.

Praise the Lord for we are safe in His grip.
